Waitlist opening soon

# The first thing we would sell you is an hour

Consulting sells programmes because programmes are what get budgeted. The useful first step is much smaller: an hour spent framing the problem, after which some companies will conclude they do not need us. When the form opens it will ask for an email address and one sentence about what is not working.

## Framing first

A short, paid piece of work you keep, including the version that argues against doing anything.

## Nothing to resell

No licences, no referrals, no partner tiers. The recommendation has nothing behind it.

## Come back

The blog is the work sample, and it is specific enough to disagree with.

## Why there is nothing to fill in

Because a consultancy with an empty delivery calendar that is already booking discovery calls is a consultancy that will learn on your programme. And because the honest first conversation is short and cheap, which does not fit a form designed to qualify a lead.

## What the waitlist will be for

One field, an email address, and optionally one sentence about what is not working. Not a qualification questionnaire, because the point of the first hour is to work out whether there is a problem worth solving, and a form cannot do that.

## What the first hour will cover

What decision is being made badly or too slowly, who makes it, what they use to make it, and what would visibly change if it were better. Most transformation programmes never answer that fourth question, which is why so many of them cannot be evaluated afterwards.

## In the meantime

The blog carries the reasoning: why change capacity rather than strategy is the binding constraint, why a consultancy that resells cannot advise you, what happens when AI meets a process nobody has defined, why six weeks of working software beats six months of design, and how to buy consulting so that it has to work.
